Efficiency of VPR’s Operations
The Municipal Enterprise “Volynpryrodresurs” of the Volyn Regional Council (VPR) is an example of the effective use of natural resources for the development of the region. The enterprise was established in 2016 to organize the legal extraction of amber, which played a key role in combating illegal mining that had caused significant damage to both the economy and the environment of Volyn region. Legal extraction and cooperation with government authorities have helped to curb the activity of “illegal amber diggers,” preserve natural resources, and ensure transparency of processes.
The enterprise's operations hold significant importance for both regional economic development and ensuring environmental safety and social stability. It actively contributes to economic growth, replenishment of budgets at all levels, and creation of new jobs, while strictly adhering to environmental standards, conducting land reclamation after extraction completion, which allows for ecosystem restoration and prevention of soil degradation.
The Municipal Enterprise "Volynpryrodresurs" of the Volyn Regional Council places special emphasis on ensuring transparency and openness in its operations, which are essential components of effective management and foster trust from the public, oversight bodies, and partners. One of the key tools in this process is the regular publication of information on the enterprise's official website (vpr.ua), where reports on completed works, financial indicators, and results of environmental impact monitoring studies are available. These include data on soil conditions, groundwater levels, ecosystem impacts, and other environmental aspects. Information on all procurements and tender processes is also public and accessible for verification.
During the wartime period, despite challenges, the enterprise has maintained operational efficiency by accumulating resources and adapting to new conditions. A comparison of 2023 and 2024 indicators confirms that the enterprise continues to fulfill its tasks, retaining its strategic importance for the region and the state.
