Mining
Geological exploration is the main stage that determines the industrial potential of a particular territory for further industrial development - amber mining. To identify amber deposits, a complex of geological exploration works is carried out in accordance with instructions and design solutions, taking into account the technical and economic indicators of the feasibility of opening and commercial exploitation of a particular territory.
This is followed by detailed geological mapping of the territory and its exploration. Exploration is carried out in the selected areas to collect rock samples. Geophysical surveys are accompanied by drilling, pitting, and exploration trenches and ditches. The exploration is carried out using modern field research tools: aerial photography of the territory, ground penetrating radar, drilling and mining equipment, etc. The applied exploration tools enable a detailed study of the territories to identify commercial amber deposits, taking into account the economic feasibility of their development.
The data obtained is used to assess the presence of amber deposits, taking into account factors such as the depth of occurrence, the complexity of extraction, potential geological risks and the economic component of extraction. The main task of geological exploration is to select the most optimal territory, mining method and determine its economic feasibility.
After identifying commercial deposits and preparing areas for extraction, additional workers (local residents of communities) are hired to develop new quarries, which allows for a regular increase in the number of jobs and revenues to the budgets of territorial communities, which plays an important socio-economic component of their development through the payment of income tax, personal income tax and rent.
The safety of every employee at the mining site is a priority. Before being hired, employees undergo all relevant training in the field of geological work and study the Rules of labour protection during the development of mineral deposits by open-pit mining and related professional instructions related to high-risk work in the mining industry.
All established safety standards are strictly adhered to at the mining site, which ensures the protection of the health and life of personnel. Regular inspections of employees' health and the technical condition of equipment are carried out to maintain safe working conditions.
Amber is extracted using advanced technologies to ensure the most efficient and environmentally friendly extraction. The company cooperates with ecologists, geologists and other specialists to optimise the extraction process and minimise its impact on the environment. The company also cares about the interests and well-being of local communities and ensures that they are taken into account in the extraction process.
Upon completion of the extraction process, amber goes through several important stages before it is ready for sale on the domestic and international markets, namely:
- cleaning the mineral from dirt and other residues by washing it with water without the use of chemicals;
- sorting amber by size and quality.
The raw amber extracted during the washing process is sorted by fraction, classified (according to the Classifier of the State Gemological Centre of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine DKDC ISSN 2079-1186, September 2022) by quality and sent for appropriate storage in specially equipped warehouses.
The extracted minerals are stored in warehouses in proper conditions (in accordance with Law of Ukraine No. 637/97-ВР 'On state regulation of the extraction, production and use of precious metals and precious stones and control over operations with them').
High-quality sorting allows us to compete in a challenging market and attract the attention of customers.
All amber extraction and sorting operations are closely guarded and monitored by video surveillance, and all production and storage facilities are equipped with CCTV cameras to ensure safety at all stages of work.
