Excursion for the Center for Children and Youth Development and Creativity of the Kolky Settlement Council

On November 28, 2024, the Municipal Enterprise “Volynpryrodresurs” of the Volyn Regional Council gladly welcomed the students of the tourism group from the Center for Children and Youth Development and Creativity of the Kolky Settlement Council.

The young guests enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Amber Enrichment and Processing Plant located in the village of Prylisne, Kamin-Kashyrskyi District. The students had a unique opportunity to visit the production workshops and become acquainted with the key stages of the enterprise’s work – from cleaning to sorting amber. Special attention was drawn to the processes of preparation and classification of amber stones by fractions.

With great interest, the guests observed unique specimens of Volyn amber, including some giant and exceptional samples. The children were also fascinated by amber pieces with inclusions, where nature has preserved insects and plants that lived millions of years ago. They gladly took memorable photos to capture these moments for years to come.

At the end of the excursion, the children learned many interesting facts about the history of amber mining in Volyn, the economic opportunities of its processing, as well as the important environmental issues related to this activity. We always strive to emphasize ecological aspects and to promote responsible attitudes toward natural resources among the younger generation.
