Generous St. Nicholas Celebration for Children of Defenders Held in Lutsk

On 6 February 2025, a warm and heartfelt St. Nicholas celebration was organised in Lutsk for the children of fallen and missing soldiers of the 100th Separate Mechanised Brigade, known as the “Steel Hundred.” The event was initiated by volunteer Tetiana Pototska with the support of the 100th Separate Mechanised Brigade, the Volyn Regional Council and the Volyn Regional Military Administration. ME Volynpryrodresurs also joined and supported the event.

The children were greeted by Chairman of the Volyn Regional Council Hryhorii Nedopad, regional council deputies Ihor Lekh and Yurii Roiko, as well as Member of Parliament Viacheslav Rubliov.

Nearly two hundred children experienced a true winter celebration filled with fairy-tale characters, entertainment, music, winter games with St. Nicholas and his helpers, face painting, a photo session, a paper show and gifts for every child.

Chairman of the Volyn Regional Council Hryhorii Nedopad thanked the organisers and presented Tetiana Pototska with an Honorary Certificate of the Volyn Regional Council in recognition of her tireless volunteer work since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

ME Volynpryrodresurs also contributed to the organisation of the celebration. Director Anatolii Kapustiuk expressed gratitude to everyone who helps bring light to children even in times of war. "Supporting the families of fallen defenders is our duty and a matter of honour. It is important that every child feels that they are not alone," he emphasised. The celebration concluded with group photos, gifts and sincere children’s smiles – the very reason this initiative was created.
